Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Midland Reformed Church website (midlandreformed.com) and the software the church uses to manage its own YouTube channel. Questions go to [email protected].

This website

The site has no accounts, no sign-up forms, and no analytics or advertising trackers, and it sets no cookies of its own. A few things still touch outside services:

• The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which handles your IP address and browser details in order to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse.
• Fonts load from Google Fonts and sermon thumbnails load from YouTube, so those Google servers receive your IP address when you view a page.
• Online giving happens on Tithe.ly, under Tithe.ly's own privacy policy. The church receives the giving record, not your card or bank details.
• Links to YouTube, Facebook and Instagram take you to those services, which have their own policies.

If you email the church, we use your message and address to reply. We do not sell, rent or share personal information with anyone for marketing.

Our channel tools and YouTube API Services

The church uses its own software, MRC Channel Tools, to manage the Midland Reformed Church YouTube channel. It uses YouTube API Services to upload sermon videos, edit titles, descriptions, thumbnails and playlists, manage captions, read and moderate comments on the church's videos, and read the channel's analytics.

• It is used only by people authorized by the church, and only on the church's own channel. It does not ask anyone else to sign in and does not access other people's YouTube accounts.
• Public comments on the church's videos, including the commenter's display name, are read through YouTube so we can reply to and moderate them. We do not sell or share that data.
• The sign-in authorization is stored on church-controlled computers and is not shared with anyone.
• Data retrieved through YouTube API Services is not kept outside YouTube for more than 30 days. To ask us to delete anything we hold about you, email [email protected].

Use of YouTube is also governed by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Access granted to this software can be revoked at any time from the Google security settings page.
